If you’re looking for a place to stay close to the Ortigas CBD for your me-time, family time, or for relatives flying in for the upcoming holidays, this reliable hotel is worth checking out.
My fiancé (yeeees, we’re engaged! I’ll tell you all about the proposal soon!) and I are in a long-distance engagement (haha), as he’s still based in Iloilo, while I live in San Juan, so staycations are common to us when one of us visits the other. Whenever he’s visiting me, we like to stay in hotels around Ortigas, so we’re close to my parents, whom Jessie likes to hang out with, too.

One of our Ortigas hotel discoveries has actually been in business for some time now, but only recently did we get the chance to stay there: Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, whose proximity to corporate destinations, shopping & entertainment centers, and major thoroughfares definitely gives it an edge in location. We love how it’s just a stone’s throw away from the city’s major commercial areas, specialty shops, and prime malls (Shangri-La Plaza, SM Megamall, and The Podium).

Accommodations
We like the warm, old-fashioned welcome guests get as they step into the lobby. Our check-in process was also smooth and easy. We decided to stay in one of their 27 Junior Suites, and we’re glad we made the choice. It’s so spacious, comfortable, and seemed designed to simulate the feel of home.

Look how spacious the Junior Suite is. You can watch TV from different parts of the room, too!
Their other room types include Superior Room, Deluxe Room, One-Bedroom Suite, Two-Bedroom Suite, Two-Bedroom Premier Suite, and Richmonde Suite.
Our Junior Suite had a comfortable queen bed with opulently soft beddings and plush covers that assured us a good night’s sleep. It also had two living areas (with a couch), dresser, walk-in closet, HD LCD TV, and Wifi access. We found the room really cozy, with an awesome view of the Ortigas CBD.

So much space in our walk-in closet!
While we didn’t get the chance (the room was too comfortable, haha), guests at Richmonde should also take advantage of the hotel’s fully-equipped gym, steam room, and heated indoor pool.

Dining
Jessie and I like to explore restaurants whenever we’re together, but staycations usually also include just staying in and maximizing what the in-hotel restaurant and bar have to offer. In Richmonde’s case, they have Richmonde Cafe, Exchange Bar, and Lobby Cafe, which offer unique menu creations.

The Exchange at the second floor is Richmonde’s intimate entertainment bar and lounge, perfect for unwinding after office hours. It’s open from 4PM to midnight, Monday to Friday, and 4-11PM on Saturday.

Richmonde Cafe at the second floor is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, known for its international dishes seasoned with local blends, available a la carte and on their buffet spreads. This is where you enjoy your buffet breakfast, if you availed of it like we did. Check out my review of their Friday Dinner Buffet here.
