Ever since I owned my first iPhone in 2012, I never looked back. The iPhone became so much a part of my life, I just need to keep upgrading to the latest version whenever I can and need to—like now, post-New York trip, where I dropped my iPhone 6 so many times, a portion of its face cracked and even its new hard case I lovingly got from the Marc Jacobs outlet broke. Sigh.

For someone who loves her iPhone so much, I’m definitely very careless with it (I once splashed my old iPhone 5 with alcohol, I had to do the rice trick just to get it to work again—good thing that hack turned out to be real!). So when I heard that the iPhone 7 is splash- and water-resistant, I just knew I had to have it. I no longer have to worry about my iPhone falling victim to spills, splashes, and dust in the course of my food reviews or travel assignments, especially at the beach.

The other thing that also makes me always want to get the latest iPhone is how they upgrade their camera each time. The iPhone 5 camera definitely won me over, and I’ve been constantly impressed with each upgrade since. As someone who takes photos for social media for a living, it’s important that the camera I always have with me is as reliable as any digital camera and can compare to the photo quality of bulkier DSLR or mirrorless cameras I’m always too lazy to lug around. I’m looking forward to road-testing the iPhone 7’s 12MP camera, optical image stabilization, and 7MP HD FaceTime camera during my travel coverage.

I got the iPhone 6, not the 6s, so I wasn’t able to own their first rose gold phone, but you can be sure I’ll be holding out for the rose gold iPhone 7. I visited the Apple store at Grand Central Station in New York recently, just to check out which of the five available colors I’d like the most—rose gold, gold, silver, and the two new colors: black with matte finish, and high-gloss jet black. The matte black’s not bad, but I got turned off by how the glossy jet black is such a fingerprint magnet! I’ll definitely have an impossible time keeping that phone clean and flawless, so I decided that the rose gold finish is still the best for girly-girl me.

If there’s anything I think the iPhone should really improve on, it’s its battery life, and the iPhone 7 was supposedly able to do that—this one I’ll have to see to believe when I finally get my hands on the much-coveted phone.

And soon we all will, because my sources tell me Globe Telecom will be releasing their iPhone packages very, VERY soon! They always have the best iPhone deals, so I’m really looking forward to getting my iPhone from them soon. Watch this page for details on how to be among the first to snag the highly awaited iPhone 7 from Globe.
