Twice in a single week this September, I was forced to walk home for at least 4KM in the rain, carrying two bags filled with my daily essentials that include my (wet) yoga clothes and a DSLR, which I used to cover events on both days. Sure, I had a tiny folding umbrella, but it barely prevented my bags from getting wet, and it totally did nothing to keep my legs from getting splattered with mud and two different pairs of shoes from getting soaked. There’s certainly more to being rain-ready than toting an umbrella.

Good news for budget-conscious people like me, Daiso Japan in certain Robinsons Malls have practical yet inexpensive rainy day essentials. In fact, they just had a Rainy Day Sale last August, but the popular price point store still has a torrent of discounted items from its extensive selection of certified kawaii merchandise, which are not only practical, they also make cute gifts. (Hint: holiday ideas!) And the best part is, prices start at P88!
Recognized as Japan’s no.1 hyakuen store and one of the retail formats under Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc., Daiso Japan offers a wide assortment of unique products, from home and kitchen ornaments, office knick-knacks, and beauty essentials to curious merchandise that are both practical and collectible. They’re also known for their really low prices and crazy combo deals like Buy 3 at P188 and P88 for two or three items!
