It’s Father’s Day but you still haven’t decided on a gift for Dad? You can’t go wrong with getting him a new smartphone! But, a good smartphone with all the features he wants need not be expensive. Just look at the trio of new smartphone models mobile tech giant OPPO recently rolled out in the Philippines: Joy Plus, Neo 5, and the R1x (photo above).
OPPO is known for its affordable price points and impressive feature sets. And these three new smartphones continue to meet the demand of the mobile brand’s many fans, as each phone offers a unique mobile experience for its users—from accessibility to high-end styling. Read on for the features of each of the phones and decide just what model would be best for Dad (and for your gift budget). While you’re at it, why not get one for yourself? It’s THAT affordable.

1. Joy Plus (P4,990)
The modest Joy Plus is a great entry-level unit. It comes with a 3MP camera (with modes like Double-Exposure), dual SIM slots, 4GB of internal storage, and 1GB of RAM. It’s the most budget-friendly among the three new OPPO models and has all the features Dad will need to always be in touch with the rest of the family, his colleagues, and his friends without a hitch. Another thing he’ll like? The Super Power-saving Mode, so he never runs out of battery power during the day, even when he leaves his power bank at home. You can get him either the white or blue unit.

2. Neo 5 (P7,990)
The Neo 5 packs stronger features in a package that’s still similarly affordable. The Neo 5 is loaded with an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, and has photo features like Double Exposure, GIF, Audio Photo, Panorama, and HDR—which you usually just find in more high-end smartphones. It has a Quad-core processor (MTK MT6582), on top of 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, so he’ll have enough memory to store all family photos. A bit more expensive than the Joy Plus, it’s still packed with great features comparable to smartphones with a higher price tag and is just as sleek. It also has the nifty Super Power-saving Mode, so no worries even if Dad loves to maximize all his new phone’s features. The unit is available in white and blue.

3. R1x (P15,990)
The R1X is the big boss of the show, sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor, so if you really want to give Dad the best of the trio, this is what you should get. The unit comes with a powerful 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, with photo features like Ultra-HD, Slow Shutter Mode, RAW, Expert Mode, Flash Shot, After Focus, and Double Exposure. If Dad loves taking photos, this is the model to get. It’s upgraded with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, with an optional slot for up to 128GB additional storage. Not only will this allow him to store all the photos he wants, he can also save videos he wants to watch and games he wants to play, not to mention all the work files he needs. And to make sure he doesn’t run out of battery power with all these cool features, it’s equipped with a Super Power-saving Mode. It’s a real stunner, available in white and black—just the colors Dad would love.
